1930s. Mrs. Conner met a Chinese family in Fort Worth and had shared the gospel to the family through teaching the 3 kids English. Those Children not only had become Christians, but also had become the pioneers of the Chinese ministry in Fort Worth.

1955 God blessed the Chinese ministry and Mrs. Conner’s living room was no longer being able to hold all the people. They asked for a permission to meet in Gambrel Street Baptist Church and the permission was granted by their pastor- Dr. Arthur. After that, they organized together and became “Oriental Mission”.

1969 Dr. Lloyd Elder ordained the first Chinese Pastor-Caleb Tang.

1974 Oriental mission, under pastor Mai’s leading, was changed to “Chinese Chapel of Gambrel Street Baptist Church”.

1980 Adult and children bible classes were set up, there are also two English classes and family fellowship once a month.

September 19th, 1982, church moved to 800 W. Seminary Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76115, and renamed to “First Chinese Baptist Church of Fort Worth”.

1980 Travis Avenue Baptist Church also opened Chinese Sunday School and become “Travis Chinese Mission” department, Mr. Bi Chu, Zhao became the first pastor.

1983 Mr. Quan Mei, Zhen became the pastor and there were many seminary students participate in church ministry.

1989 Mr. Warren Wang was ordained to become the pastor.

1990 There were two Chinese church in Fort Worth “First Chinese Baptist Church of Fort Worth” and “Travis Chinese Mission”. In order to do better and bigger ministry, these two churches prayed to combine together.

February 9th, 1992, both churches voted to united as one church, Mr. Warren Wong became the pastor and the church was named “First Chinese Baptist Church of Fort Worth”.

February 23rd, 1992, the church changed the name to “Chinese Baptist Church of Fort Worth”.

December 2nd, 1992, the church moved to 4625 Granbury Road, Fort Worth, TX 76133 until now.
